The Passe Ferroviário Verde (green rail pass) costs €20 for 30 days and gives unlimited travel on Regional, InterRegional and 2nd-class Intercidades trains and, since 27 September 2026, on every CP urban train in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra. The Alfa Pendular, Intercidades 1st class and, for now, Fertagus are left out. Portuguese citizens and foreign residents buy it in the CP app, on cp.pt or at ticket offices. Below, the calculator tells you whether it beats the Navegante, the Andante or the tickets you pay today.
Type a monthly amount between €0 and €2,000.
Over a year: Passe Verde €243.33 (12.17 passes of 30 days) against €480.00 for 12 months of metropolitan pass.
Fertagus (Roma-Areeiro–Setúbal) does not accept the pass yet: if you cross the bridge by train, keep the Navegante.
Intercidades: 2nd class only, free seat reservation within 24 hours before departure, up to two trips a day.
The calculator compares what you spend on trains today with the Passe Ferroviário Verde and with your area's metropolitan pass. Pass prices come from the decree-law and CP; example fares come from the CP 2026 tables. Everything runs in your browser.
Since 27 September 2026 the pass works on every CP train except the Alfa Pendular: CP calls it its first pass valid across all its passenger services. The law that extended it, Decreto-Lei 195-A/2026, also covers the Fertagus line, but that part has not started.

The pass is bought and loaded in the CP app, on cp.pt (myCP, Carteira, Cartões de Mobilidade), at CP ticket offices and at the ticket machines in Lisbon-area stations, any day of the month. It sits on a Cartão CP: the physical card with a digital version costs €6 (plus €2.50 if posted) and the digital-only card, which only works for this pass, costs €0.50. Online requests use the Chave Móvel Digital; at a ticket office, the digital card needs a Cartão de Cidadão.
